Run ski baby jogger adventure finish birthday marathon
May 1 — Seattleites mark down your calendars!
I will return to seattle on May 1 and run a marathon open to the public starting at 10am to celebrate. (Conveniently may 1 is also my bday). I designed the route to match my idea of the perfect Seattle marathon— it loops around Lake Washington and Lake Union stopping at no less than three beaches and two chocolate stores. Ample opportunities to swim, and the run finishes at my favorite beach by the Ballard Elks Lodge (aka “Miami Beach” credit: Tiara).
As you may know, this adventure is human-powered i.e. powered by all the humans who have inspired me and been inspired. Consequently, I could think of no funner way to conclude than by sharing my final run with anyone who wishes to join. For those of you who do join, I look forward to some good conversation with you on the road. Finally, for those of you who have already powered this adventure by helping or encouraging me when I needed it, you will be in my thoughts this week and in the final stretch as I reflect back on the past months.
Please feel welcome to join/leave at any checkpoint or meet me at the finish where I’ll hang out for a while. The time windows for the checkpoints are rough estimates. If I’m early, I will try to stay at each checkpoint until the end of the time window. If you show up and I’m not there, call or text 973-856-1860 for my location. My pace will be 12-14ish.

PS
I’m leaving Marblemount today after a fantastic but too short stay with Tom and Meesh. Fortunately, I got to see the whole Marblemount crew: Devin, Bob, Brenda, Meesh and Tom at Upriver Tap and Grill and almost all of the dogs: Scout, Jack, Leica, Cascade, and Clem (not Romeo). If you like dogs more than people, Marblemount is the place for you.
Tom and I were able to drop right into conversation about life, learning, adventure, and entrepreneurship. He’s been keeping up with my blogs since we met in January, and it’s a treat to hear his responses. Tonight he told us his grandma‘s mantra, “You’re as young as your dreams. You’re as old as your fears.”
WELCOME BACK TO SEATTLE, OPS!!! Will you be staying at your old house while you are there?
