Pardon the Break
Introduction
Welcome to 1000 Miles South America. My goal is to run 1000 miles on every continent and I started my fourth on May 22, 2026. I finished running from volcano to volcano in Ecuador, climbing and skiing each one, on June 11, 2026. Now I’m heading to the Cordillera Blanca. Follow this blog or my Instagram for updates.

Hi everyone, Thanks so much for tuning in this summer and for your kind feedback on these blogs. It’s been my privilege to provide morning reading to you the past couple weeks. I just arrived in the Cordillera Blanca and am gearing up to traverse the full range on foot. The idea is to establish an FKT for the “Cordillera Blanca Traverse” and maybe also climb a mountain along the way. This 200 mile route was conceived by Cam Honan in 2014.
The fastest I’m aware of anyone doing the route is 16 days, and no one as far as I know has done it with the intention of going as fast as possible. By my calculations, it would make sense to submit the route for a “Fastest Known Time” if completed in 12 or 13 days, as that would require sustained big hikes and be somewhat hard to repeat.
I expect we’drer to be almost entirely out of service during the effort, so daily blogs will go on pause until I regain reliable internet access.
✌️❤️

Good luck with it! I look forward to the results and will miss the reports.
🙏🙏🙏♥️
