Countdown
Fell asleep writing this post so it got cut short
12/31
Today was just getting last minute things in order. For the second year in a row I did a sober low key New Years Eve, this year in complete solitude. Not necessarily intentionally, it’s just a consequence of my start date: Jan 1.
I picked Jan 1 as my start date despite getting back to Seattle from New York under two weeks ago because I liked the symbolism of starting the run on the new year. This is my excuse to have no resolutions. My only resolution is to do my baby jogger Schtick everyday. There’s been a lot of pressure to push back and do it when the holidays over, but sticking to the deadline sets the right tone. Keeping things professional.
I had a college professor who said God invented deadlines for a reason. That’s a funny thing to say. Humans must have invented deadlines.
I’ll be in front country the next few days as I travel north. Tomorrow I have a 17 mile run planned up to bothell.
Ok falling asleep and happy new year!

That photo is hysterical. I can assure readers who don't know Olly that a rescue operation is completely unnecessary. The mouth tape is proof that he leaves no good idea unexplored and untested.
