Dear Friends,
I started writing daily in July 2023 as a way to get more motivated at work. I was a software engineer at Amazon and got fired a few months later.
When I decided to run from my front door in Seattle pushing a baby stroller with no destination or end date, the blog came with me. I ran 1500 miles with my skis to Jasper and back home thanks to the encouragement and support of countless kind souls along the way.
Canada inspired me to do another adventure: 1000 miles from the Tanzania coast to East Africa’s only public children’s hospital, the Shoe 4 Africa Hospital. I relied on kindness from strangers on the road every single day for motivation, directions, and basic survival needs.
Now my project has grown into running 1000 miles every continent. As of February 2026, I have completed 3 out of 7. In May 2026, I will fly to Colombia to start running through the Andes.
The most consistent I feedback I receive from readers is their appreciation for the people on the road who extended kindness to a stranger (me) with no expectation of receiving anything in return.
The principle that continues to shine brightest through these adventures is “Love thy neighbor” along with the discovery that your neighbor loves you.
